Confirmed from Shanklin Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Popular park offering baseball fields, an outdoor swimming pool & a playground, plus walking trails.

“Their Christmas lights are simple but absolutely beautiful.”
“Shanklin Park in Goshen is truly the crown jewel for families—offering an expansive playground alongside a wealth of activities that appeal to all ages.”
My absolute favorite park to take my boys on a nice summer day. It’s finally open again since COVID and we can’t wait to get back there. I drive all the way from the far end of Elkhart City to bring my kids here. They love walking the trails and going to see the river that is right by there
Just a wonderful park. Baseball fields and basketball court. Several bathroom areas and concession stands. Biking trails, a large pond with a fountain and indoor and outdoor Pavilion areas. A nice large wooden playground and plenty of open space to run. As well as an outdoor pool.
Beautiful park! There is quite a bit to do and see. There is a wooden playground, a few baseball fields, a beautiful pool with a diving board, a kids' play structure, and some hiking trails.
Great place to take my grandchildren. In the summer, we playing at Tommy's Palace and in the winter, we drive and walk through the lights!

Plan your run at Shanklin Park
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
