Confirmed from Shining Sea Bikeway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Paved route following the coast for cyclists, hikers and runners.
What runners say about Shining Sea Bikeway
“Enjoy, ride safely, and please help to keep the trails and parks clean.”
“It takes you along the beautiful beaches of Falmouth and your eyes will be served with beautiful sceneries all along.”
“Well marked, beautiful views, mile markers every half mile.”
One of the two main bike trails in cape cod. This trail is 10 miles each way from the trailhead to woods hole. Very scenic with waterfront views throughout. We made lots of stop on the bike tour. The ocean at the end is so beautiful biking alongside the beach. See pics. Watching the windsurfers and foil boards.
From starting point by the ferries to its end at the parking lot in North Falmouth, it is about 10 miles each way, boasting some beautiful coastal and wooden sceneries with lots of benches and a few restaurants along the way. Relatively flat incline but can get busy with pedestrians in some spots.
It's a smoothe and well maintained bike trail. It takes you along the beautiful beaches of Falmouth and your eyes will be served with beautiful sceneries all along. I really enjoyed this path a few times already and I won't need too much convincing to go there again.
Easy access and a level trail. This is enjoyable for everyone. Gorgeous ! Walk, run or bike it at your speed. Don’t pass this up! You can also bike down to the ferry and head on over to Martha’s Vineyard.
