Confirmed from Shirley Chisholm State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park on a former landfill overlooking Jamaica Bay, with trails, picnic spots & NYC skyline views.

“Upon arrival, I was greeted by well-maintained trails that meandered through the park's lush greenery.”
“As I explored further, I encountered picturesque views of serene lakes and vibrant wildflowers that added a splash of color to the landscape.”
“I knock the one star off because there is limited parking, and as far as State Park amenities, you're pretty limited, no ball courts, no grills, and almost no natural shade.”
“The trails are clearly marked and well-maintained, ensuring a safe and enjoyable journey.”
“As an avid nature lover, I couldn't have asked for a better place to spend a peaceful day away from the bustling city.”
Great park, you can bring your own bike or rent! Also a good place to get some steps in, bring a hat and sunglasses because there’s not much shade except by the ports. If you get lucky, you can see the bunnies!
It's a superb place for hiking, biking, roller skating, and jogging. All in the fresh air. You can either do all of the above mentioned on a paved surface or rocky terrain. Be sure to hydrate. Once you leave the parking area and head towards the fountain trail you will be gone for an easy 3 hours.
A Refreshing Escape at Shirley Chisholm State park Visiting Shirley Chisholm State Park was an absolute delight and a breath of fresh air. As an avid nature lover, I couldn't have asked for a better place to spend a peaceful day away from the bustling city.
The park is nice! Upon entering the park, I was greeted by a young man who gave me flier about the park with a map on the back. He told me where to proceed to park my vehicle. There is a parking lot with lots of single-rowed, slanted parking.
