Confirmed from Shoal Creek's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Natural area boasting a sizable conservation-education center, an aquarium & walking trails.

We've come here since before the Glades were the Glades and loved it even then. My kids have practically grown up here. We love exploring the cliff sides and trails. It's a great place to find the peace you've been looking for.
This is a beautiful park with trails, kayaking and a small but easy access waterfall. The conservation area is great for the kiddos with hands on learning. The gift shop is very reasonably priced and has some very cute stuff.
What a great walk on the Wildcat Glades Walk. We started at the Shoal Creek Conversation center and walked 3.8 easy miles down - across - back and across the river. Was a very beautiful walk. Restroom available at the Shoal Creek building. Also many other spots to start your walk and was not crowded.
Update for Spring of 23: The park is cleaned up nicely. Fresh painted hopscotch and other kids' games. Well marked and re-paved walking trails. All over a great place for the family.
Trail conditions & character

Plan your run at Shoal Creek
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
