Confirmed from Skagit River Walk Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Skagit River Walk Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (177 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“What a beautiful day to buy plants and baked goods and crafts everything was beautiful the sun was out oh, it can't get much better than this!”

Great waterfront walk (or bike ride) and lots of local plants, flowers and art.

★★★★★ — Max , May 2022

Awesome stretch of walk way every one will enjoy especially in summertime or any nice weather to be outside walking on the river side. Accessible public restrooms and it's near in the heart of the business hub of Mount Vernon. Family friendly park to go picnic.

★★★★★ — Captain , Feb 2021

Great place to go for a quick walk if you go along the river. Didn't see any bathrooms or places for garbage though, which resulted in people leaving their "dog" bags at the trail heads. Nice little pile of them. We didn't walk far enough to see a playground anywhere. We walked from the "park" in downtown Mt.

★★★★☆ — Jessica , Feb 2023

Great park! There's a nice walking path, lots of art, beautiful view of the river, good people watching, parking and access to many good restaurants. Tables and benches to enjoy a bite, talk with a friend or take in the view. Two thumbs up for an "urban" park!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceBoardwalk — flat and scenic, and slick when wet, so watch your footing
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
