Confirmed from Skillman Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Excellent place to run, cross-country ski, hike, or walk the dog to the new gated dog-run on the western section of the park.”

This park is one of my favorites in the area. There are hundreds of old trees—hickories, sycamores, willows, oaks, black walnuts, maples, birches, and more. It has about four miles of trails, some are asphalt and some grass.

Great park providing immersion into a calm and picturesque environment. It's relatively new, being Skillman's newest park. It's quite big, about 250 acres. The park offers a 2.25-mile paved loop trail. Several parking lots are available.

If you are self directed and looking for a quiet, peaceful place to walk, run or a leisurely bike ride - you might want to check it out. Not sure the length of the loop but I would guess it's at least a mile. In the back corner, behind the school there's an old cemetery.

Beautiful, well maintained, and clean public park. Great for walkers, bikers, and runners. There's even a dog park. There is plenty of parking and seating for people who just want to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Our thanks to the Somerset County Parks Department for this wonderful public resource.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
