Confirmed from Van Horne Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Van Horne Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (246 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 8 mentions

“There are clean bathrooms, a pavilion, grass fields for lacrosse, football, soccer, running around; and basketball courts too.”

🏃 great for running 3 mentions

“The path around the park is great for walking, running, rollerblading, bicycle riding, etc and gives several different distance options.”

Great park for a walk or run. There is also a playground for children, playing fields, and a covered picnic area for families. The public bathrooms are clean and well maintained. It also cool to watch the small Princeton Airport planes overhead as they come in for a landing. I love this simple park.

The playground is so much fun and unique. We meet weekly in small groups. We play and then go on a hike that finishes with a book, snack or craft. It’s such a great park with a Pavilion, fields, playground and trails.

A really nice little park in Princeton. Nice basketball court and space for people to have a walk. It’s a little hard to find though but with google maps directions you should be fine.

★★★★★ — David , Jan 2022

Nice expansive park. Plenty of room to play, 2 different play sets for the kids. There is ample parking, and a walking trail, ball fields. And bathrooms.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
