Confirmed from Skyline Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Skyline Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (80 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“Very light foot traffic beautiful not so hidden gem”

Skyline Trail parking is basically in the Sprague High School parking lot. The trail has some incline but not too much. Pretty narrow. Not the best for strollers. Beautiful trail covered in trees. We were able to hear multiple species of birds when we were walking. Great for an easy hike.

★★★★☆ — Greg , May 2023

Nice trail system with lots of forks to take. Trails get more narrow as you hike further in and we turned back after a few meetings with poison oak reaching out over the path.

★★★★☆ — Ja'Net , Jul 2022

Nice Woody Trail 1 Mile across with some Splits. 30 Mins causal stroll. Very pretty during Spring and Summer. Poison Oak in some parts of trail be careful.

★★★★★ — Chris , Sep 2022

Lovely trail, old trees and we'll maintained. Feels like one is farther away from civilization than you actually are. Just a very nice little walk. Not strenuous even if you do the whole thing. The map is accurate and there are many ways to do shorter or different routes.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
