Confirmed from Smith-Barfield Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Baseball field, picnic tables and shaded playground with unique play areas.
What runners say about Smith-Barfield Park
“-Bathrooms that smelled clean (we went around 8:30) - A nice short walking trail with the playground in full view.”
“That said, there’s still a lot of uncovered area where sun will get you, and the sole bench along the play area is not shaded by any means.”
Nice park tucked back into a neighborhood. Playground structures are quite large and built over cushioned rubber flooring which is awesome. There are some awnings over the play structures and a good amount of trees around the park.
Fun park with some newer active playground equipment, different than you see in most parks. Most of it is under a shade. Except the spinning swing. Or younger kid loves the place and often runs into kids her age there. Attached to the playground is a small walking loop around a flat grassy area with a pavilion.
What a hidden gem! We did a tour of all the parks in hurst a few summers back but somehow missed this one. - Nice playground with not brand new but still modern, unique play areas. Some rubberized surface, mulch by swings.
I walk my dog through this park daily. It is a great park for people to enjoy the outdoors. They have a baseball field, tennis courts, clean restrooms, grills for cooking, and some really fancy playground equipment for children with a thick layer of soft protective padding on the ground.
