The park is assessable at several locations. I entered off Castro Ranch road. This took me through the neighborhood bordering the park off Coach Rd. A suburban cookie cutter landscape, wide streets and well kept lawns. The parking lot is very small no more than half a dozen cars at best.
Great quiet place to hike, bike and walk your dog. There is water at the trail head with nice views of the bay at the top. Take care to stay on the trail and keep your eye out for rattle snakes as I have seen them on the trail here!
El Sobrante has access to some great East Bay Regional Park trails, and when I lived nearby and had my dogs, this was one of my favorite hikes. With just a few steps one is out of the city and into wilderness.
Although it was cold and windy when I arrived late in the day, I can see this park being a great place when the sun is nice and warm. It's tucked away in the hills of an El Sobrante residential neighborhood. It's not the biggest park but does the job if your out just stretching your legs with your 4 legged pet.
