Confirmed from Kennedy Grove Regional Recreation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Quiet spot for picnics & other gatherings, with a rustic cottage, hiking trails & fragrant trees.
What runners say about Kennedy Grove Regional Recreation Area
“Clean place, I always see people checking the Park 🏞️ Highly recommend for school activities, family birthdays, etc.”
“This trail adds 1/3 of a mile to the walk, is a bit more of a hike and a little more scenic.”
“A peaceful place to hike on weekdays, a fun place for events on the weekends.”
My kids thoroughly enjoy this park. They usually bike, use the playground, or we go hiking up the hill to the peak. There's a wonderful view of San Pablo Dam there!
A little piece of sanctuary across the Bay to get away from it all. Nice mature trees & easy enough trails. Weekdays are not too crowded. Came when it was raining so there was no one around & it made for a nice walk in solitude.
There's a great hiking trail/loop here that's pretty much straight up and straight down that I like to do when I have limited time for exercise but still want a high impact workout. It's roughly 2 miles and 575ft elevation. The trail is heavily used, but not many people are out on a weekday afternoon.
One of my favorite places to enjoy with my husband, I visited very often with the kids where I work. Clean place, I always see people checking the Park 🏞️ Highly recommend for school activities, family birthdays, etc. Wonderful for jogging etc.

“Tucked into the hills of El Sobrante, it feels like you are in the middle of nature, surrounded by trees and far enough from the noise of traffic, when you are here.”
“I hike here because the trails are not busy and I can let my dog run off leash.”
“Beautiful park with tall mature trees , a restroom , trails, and an open field.”
