Confirmed from Sonora Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Beautiful park for some family fishing time.”

Sonora Park, Kennedale, TX. First time there nice meandering walking trail, Frisbee Golf - saw a couple folks fishing in the pond. Very clean, several parking lots; quiet with pleasant surroundings.

This is our time. Cosmo and I walk in the park every day rain or shine, sleet or snow We have to go even if it's just to breath fresh air and to check out the squirrel's! I Can honestly say Cosmo rescued me!!! UPDATE: March, 2021 New year. New dog. New Attitude. I rescued this Schipperke breed.

Sonora is a gem in Kennedale. For disc golf, fishing, walking you can't go wrong. Bring some apples and feed the horses on the fence line by hole 3! Still beautiful miss the horses though😐

★★★★★ — Garrett , Jun 2022

Nice city park. Pond. Pavillion. Several picnic tables. Restrooms that are actually unlocked. Only about 3/4 miles of trails. Ducks will chase you down

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
