Confirmed from Soos Creek Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Soos Creek Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,063 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 10 mentions

“The trail is incredibly well-maintained and offers a peaceful experience for walkers, runners, and cyclists alike.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“Soos Creek Trail is a well kept, clean, open, inviting and beautiful trail that is teaming with wildlife.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 5 mentions

“From the moment you step onto the trail, you'll feel a sense of calm wash over you.”

The southern part of the trail is the most beautiful. The entire trail is great for cycling with just enough hills to keep it interesting. The southern part also has a hiking trail that runs parallel to the bike trail.

I ride the 12 mile round trip on the trail several times each week, and I run 5+ miles on it other days. Friendly! Well maintained! Excellent. You have your choice of paved path (about 10' wide) or natural path. Be careful on your bike ...

This is a great trail for walking, running, biking, and skateboarding. Great place for dog walking, but please leave them on leash as required

★★★★★ — Connie , Aug 2023

Soos Creek Trail is a well kept, clean, open, inviting and beautiful trail that is teaming with wildlife. It's close enough to the city to not have to drive all day to get to, but just removed enough to feel like you've gone somewhere.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🛣️ Paved surface 13 mentions

“The paved path winds through lush greenery, towering trees, and open fields, offering a refreshing change of scenery from the concrete jungle of Seattle.”

Plan your run at Soos Creek Trail

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
