Confirmed from South Everett Forest Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about South Everett Forest Preserve

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (70 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Hidden back by the interurban trail, the South Everett Forest preserve provides a nice local escape from the pavement and concrete of the city. The trails are nicely marked by wood chips and provide a nice stroll through a small wetlands and further up the hill it turns into a forest.

★★★★★ — Ron , Apr 2019

I love how its a little forest in the middle of a city, but I don't like that you can hear cars rushing by Because its near a highway. But other than that its a very peaceful walk if you are nearby.

★★★★☆ — Leonore , Apr 2019

Small park in my neighborhood. Not much parking for people coming in cars, but, Fun little loop to walk. The trails foot print is where a line of dirt jumps once ran.

★★★★★ — David , Dec 2020

Nice and surprisingly quiet trails in the middle of a suburban area. Didn't expect to find this gem. My dogs loved it!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
