Confirmed from McCollum Park Athletic Field's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about McCollum Park Athletic Field

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (849 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“The pool is wonderful in the summer, locker rooms are well kept and the pool is maintained beautifully.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“This gem is certainly a beauty to behold even in inclimate weather with healthy forest, extremely beautiful flora and fauna!”

THIS IS A REVIEW FOR THE NORTH CREEK TRAIL. IT DOES NOT SHOW UP ON GOOGLE MAPS, SO IM USING THIS LOCATION TO REVIEW IT. MCCOLLUM PARK ITSELF IS VERY BLAND LIKE WHITE BREAD. I’ve been in this place hundreds of times. It usually does not disappoint. Now recently over the past year or so this trail has gone unkempt.

Solid place to go for a simple walk! Nothing too pretty too look at but it's definitely sporting a very zen atmosphere. Great for novice hikers and people with mobility issues.

★★★★☆ — Ecco-Station , Jun 2023

It has almost everything that you're looking for. A trail, kid's play area, open field for all kinds of sports, ex. Perfect for any age!

★★★★☆ — Abhishek , Jun 2021

I have been frequenting this park for most of my life in various manners. The pool is wonderful in the summer, locker rooms are well kept and the pool is maintained beautifully. The BMX track is fantastic to watch races at and I imagine a blast to ride.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at McCollum Park Athletic Field

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
