Confirmed from South Fork Trail and Blueway Access' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Trail to stroll along the South Fork River past a disused cotton mill and for canoeing.

“Great easy trail that is fun to ride and get some exercise without making a day of it.”

Great trail running along South Fork River. Access is near I85 and also is an access point to the blueway. Trail is 2 miles end to end and the northern access point is in a residential neighborhood. Some ruins of an old bridge are asking route.

Great place to go of you want somewhere close. Great easy trail that is fun to ride and get some exercise without making a day of it. Would be great for kids too.

Great place to stroll along the river. Trail was muddy in several places. Surely somebody's got some gravel in Gaston County to shore up this trail a bit! Dog loved it but I now have shoes to demud!

★★★★☆ — Mark , Feb 2022

Very natural 2 mile trail. You can even see remnants of civil war era bridge over catabwa river.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
