Confirmed from South Park Recreation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

South Park recreation is a nice scenic walking path. Occasionally, there are some wildlife. The path meanders bear the creek. We have seen mink, water foul, pheasants, deer, and more. There has been quite a bit of destruction on the deck and railing system which is sad.

★★★★☆ — Rachel , Jun 2023

Essentially the southern starting point for the bike/walk trail system. There is plenty of parking and a M&F bathroom. Goose Creek (fishable and swimming) meanders around the rec area and there are both forested and unforested (almost a wetland) sections. Tons of bird life from baldies to pheasants to tiny.

Super city park at the south end on the trails system. You walk, ride, run, fish etc. In winter it's groomed for cross country ski. Often see pheasants, birds or prey, etc. The view of the big horn mountains is great. Keep your dog on a leash or you will pay the price to the city.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
