Confirmed from Southards Pond Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Big fishing pond with perch, bluegill, pumpkinseed & carp that's also stocked with trout seasonally.
What runners say about Southards Pond Park
“There isn't a great deal here, however it is a beautiful spot to walk, run, ride your bike, or just relax and enjoy nature.”
“Beautiful and peaceful little park with a few benches to relax and enjoy the view on the water and its wildlife.”
“Great dog friendly park nice trails playground tennis and basketball courts no rest rooms trail goes all the way to Belmont park”
Lots of firm trails for bicycle pedestrians, lots of unmarked trails for hiking and nature. Ride or walk run all the way up to Belmont park and back to the train station and Argyle lake.
Absolutely beautiful foliage at this time of the year. This hidden gem is between Belmont Lake State Park and Argyle Pond, so many people have missed it. This tiny little park is beautiful, dogs friendly and the trails are easy to walk. You may need to share the path with horses if you are luck to see one.
Nice easy walk, good seating and wonderful bird watching. The great blue heron sat motionless for about an hour, the ospreys were diving for fish and the birds were merrily chirping in the trees.
A true hidden gem! Great place for a hike. In my opinion, have a partner with you though as its kind of secluded.
