Confirmed from Gardiner County Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature-oriented park with off-leash dog runs and trails, some leading to a beach.
What runners say about Gardiner County Park
“The wooded trails with streams and ponds are always well kept, and they even cover muddy spots with wood chips.”
“So I loved this place for a while because its beautiful and has a dog-friendly beach but honestly, I just don’t think the beach part is worth it anymore.”
“The expanded dog runs- one for dogs under 25 pounds and one for dogs over 25 pounds have added to the park’s already excellent reputation as dog friendly.”
Today was my first visit to this park and I loved it. Took my dog and we walked all over the trails and made our way to the water and sat and just enjoyed the view. After a while we headed back and laid out on a blanket in the grass and enjoyed the day.
Great place to visit with your dog. They have 3 separate dog runs (large, small, and agility). You have to walk a sandy trail to the waterfront. Wear solid walking sneakers that you don't mind getting dirty and muddy, especially while traversing through the sandy beach area which was covered with muck and seaweed, but…
Great views, great trails, great space and an overall great day. We brought our dog down by the water where you get a surprise thrill view of the bridge and a nice stretch of a walk there and back.
The expanded dog runs- one for dogs under 25 pounds and one for dogs over 25 pounds have added to the park’s already excellent reputation as dog friendly. One of the few parks on the shore shore that allows dogs. In addition for the dog runs are numerous trails that can be enjoyed with leashed dogs or humans only.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
