Confirmed from Southeast Clarke Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Spacious park with walking trails, a modern playground & a dog park, plus multisport facilities.
What runners say about Southeast Clarke Park
“the playgrounds, skateparks, tennis, and the stage are clean and the grass is cut.”
“The only negative is there isn't any shade, avoid it during the middle of the day.”
We love the park! Lots of trails and activities for people and furry friends!
Top notch park! Free to use! Split into 2 sections. Be sure to park in the correct area, there are two entrances off 2 different roads. The section off Whit Davis Rd has the dog park and kids park. The section off Hwy 78 has the sports fields, tennis courts, and skate park.
they take care of this park. the playgrounds, skateparks, tennis, and the stage are clean and the grass is cut. The dog park is also cut clean and the trails are always clean. however, do be careful when you go to dogs parks because people dont know how to train their dogs.
Nice little local community park with play area for the children as well as two separate run areas for your dogs. All the times I've been there everyone has their dogs in control and having fun with the other dogs at the park. Good place to visit if you're in the Athens area

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
