Confirmed from Southwest Greenway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Southwest Greenway

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (253 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“Absolutely beautiful, perfect for a walk, just get out and enjoy nature right in the heart of n central Austin”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 5 mentions

“A Serene Oasis in Mueller – Stunning Wildflowers and Peaceful Trails!”

Gorgeous space, I love scooting and walking around the neighborhoods here. Very nice little body of water, walkway, cool sculptures, etc.

★★★★☆ — Jj , Mar 2024

A nice place to walk, off of the more beaten path of Mueller Lake Park. This isn't an area for lounging in the grass, as most of these landscaping of intended to preserve native plants and habitat, but the trails are pleasant and varied, with interesting sculpture installations along the way.

★★★★☆ — Kim , Aug 2016

In the age of social distancing, my family and I actively seek out park areas where we can stretch out our arms and relax. Thankfully, Southwest Greenway offers the right prescription with plenty of nature without the long drive. Right now is especially nice, with few crowds and lots of wildflowers still in bloom.

★★★★★ — Joshua , May 2020

We were hoping to see some butterflies but we weren’t so lucky when we came by. The trail is pretty to walk but it is relatively short. There are a few benches scattered around different parts. There is also a small pond, which is nice to look at. The flowers along the trail are pretty

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 15 mentions

“Such a wonderfully wild place, great place for children to connect with nature as there are 2 waterfalls that can be played on (ignore the signs not to) and a sensory garden.”
