Confirmed from Spreckels Memorial Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Neighborhood park featuring a playground and courts for tennis.
What runners say about Spreckels Memorial Park
“the park is kept up real good by Joe and staff also picnic area's are kept up and clean ready for use.”
Well maintained park including picnic tables, baseball Dimond, benches throughout, pavement trail around and thru the entire park, clean restrooms, stocked and includes soap, play structure for toddlers and separate one for bigger kids. This park is an entire city block in the center of town
We like to go there for the 4th of July. The park is one square block. Lots of grass & trees. It is a good old time with a 5K & 10K run/walk, kids of all ages on parade with their parents & everyone dressed up in the best 4th of July gear. There is a parade of real old time & not so old time cars.
Great park! Lots of running space. Has a cute playground, tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts. You’ll need your own volley net.. It reminds me of one of those old fashioned parks where you can visualize Pollyanna walking around with her huge slice of watermelon or 10¢ cake while the “folks” filled band plays in…
Great park for kids, events, sports. Big open grass area, kids playground, and walking paths. There were some dogs off leash when I was there, just to put that out there.
Trail conditions & character
“There is a play area with multiple slides and climbing structures, a large grassy basin, a tennis court, and gender specific bathrooms on the south west corner.”
“There were some dogs off leash when I was there, just to put that out there.”

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
