Confirmed from Spring Valley State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Small green space on the Willamette River with quiet trails for hiking and biking.
What runners say about Spring Valley State Park
“This beautiful Willamette River Greenway site has 4 miles of trails.”
“The quiet deciduous forest is full of interesting detail for the careful observer.”
Great little park with several 1 mile long hiking trails and also a couple of mountain biking trails. Muddy in the winter and really quite lovely in the summer. There are two grass fields for fetch playing and a bathroom. One trail was completely inaccessible due to the downed trees from the February 2021 ice storm.
This is a great place to swim. It is also quiet and peaceful. The two lower trails from the parking lot are nice and easy hikes. The upper two trails from the road are more challenging but fun hikes.
Awesome! Few parking spaces, yet not frequented enough to require a "lot." Hee-hee-hee!?! Lots of hiking trails, and easy access the the Willamette river's edge (unless you have mobility issues).
We went on a Friday in January so we had the place to ourselves! Wounderful, secluded park. Nice trails. Clean, new-ish pit toilets. Grew up close by in Salem and never knew this park was here. Definitely going back.
