Confirmed from Standley Lake Regional Park & Wildlife Refuge's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This recreational area is anchored by a reservoir & offers boating, fishing & camping options.
What runners say about Standley Lake Regional Park & Wildlife Refuge
“Beautiful, well kept lake and campground area with friendly staff and wonderful nature all around.”
We were over on this side of town and looking for a quick place to picnic. Unfortunately, a day pass was $7, but the ranger was so nice and pointed us to a FREE parking lot just a little ways down W. 100th Ave. We parked and walked about halfway down to the lake to a picnic bench in the shade near the showers.
I had an amazing time at Standley Lake Campground. Highly recommend reserving a bell tent ($55/night) because when you arrive the tent is already set up and they have fire pits, a picnic table and cots. We put 2 large cots together and put a foam mattress on top.
The RV spots are first-come, first-serve. We paid $22 per night for 2 nights. No hookups although they have a water hose near the restrooms/shower with potable water. We stayed near the end of July and the weather was cooling off a bit so we didn't need to run the generators much.
Lovely place to camp in the summer with a Nice view to the mountains. Good to see the wildlife, to practice paddling sports, to bike and walk around the lake
Trail conditions & character
“Beautiful, well kept lake and campground area with friendly staff and wonderful nature all around.”
“The bathrooms are better than most you'd imagine at a campsite, no pit toilets or porta potties.”
“If you have a small car it's impossible since you have to have your board blown up, then take it to spray station, then drive down with the board to the parking by lake.”
“The scenery is really beautiful and the lake is just a dirt path away.”

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
