Confirmed from Statesville Greenway - Gregory Creek Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking area with a peaceful trail, picnic tables, log cabins, and a water pump, plus a nearby art museum.
What runners say about Statesville Greenway - Gregory Creek Trailhead
“7 mile kinda scenic, mostly wooded trail which I understand is popular for walking/hiking, biking, and jogging.”
“The trail offers a peaceful, flat, and in some places paved path through nature and along Fourth Creek.”
“Fairly easy walk with no real inclines and pet friendly.”
I drove past here unexpectedly. When I Googled it, I discovered I missed a $1 entry fee day. The pictures looked like costumed interpreters... I came back the next day, bringing my camera. Weather was beautiful, Fall colours were coming in. The site is peaceful, and serene. Of course, I was the only one there...
Neat little historical site in Statesville with nice hiking trails near by. We went on a weekend where they had historical interpretations which was nice.
We’ve come here many times and we love it! The trails are nice and comfortable to walk on. Overall a great atmosphere and perfect for dogs!
Small little trail that is all dirt. Picnic tables along the way. Fairly easy walk with no real inclines and pet friendly. Directly across from the museum of art and some pioneer log cabins. Behind the museum is a beautiful scenic area ( great for photos 📸)

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.

- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
