We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Station Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Large area featuring baseball fields, plus soccer fields and a playground.
What runners say about Station Park
“Sparta does a great job of keeping the park clean and the recent additions of the turf field and two sand volleyball courts, it's even better!”
“It also had beautiful night lighting so they could play until 9:00.”
A ginormous park with over 12 fields, a playground and other amenities well-maintained by Sparta's Park Maintenance. I found this park by chance after visiting the abandoned, turned Sparta Train Station Museum.
Quiet and clean park area with a really nice playground for the kids. Several slides and unique climbing structures surrounded with mulch for soft landings. Plenty of parking. Porta potties on site in the warmer months, but it's a bit of hike to get to them from the playground.
Station park is a wonderful place to enjoy a nice walk, or jog, to cast a line in the pond for some pan fish, or a nice bass, and there's a stream for trout fishing. There are soccer fields, baseball fields, and two relatively new volleyball pits.
Grew up playing soccer and baseball at Station Park. I still visit frequently to coach and go for a run. Sparta does a great job of keeping the park clean and the recent additions of the turf field and two sand volleyball courts, it's even better!
