Confirmed from Stehley Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Stehley Park
“Dogs can be off leash and there is a nice shaded path that winds about a 1/2 mile gently uphill.”
Nice place for a short jaunt or take the kids on their first 1 mile gravel ride on a strider. Lots of dog owners and unfortunately none of followed the leash rules the day I was there
This is a home next to the park. The park itself is delightful. Dogs can be off leash and there is a nice shaded path that winds about a 1/2 mile gently uphill. Star of the show is the babbling brook that runs alongside the path where the pups can get a drink. A++
Large unfenced open space, framed by a creek, wood rail fence, and backyards. Dogs roamed freely. Not crowded between 3:15 and 4:45. Plenty of shaded seating at 3pm.The big dogs started showing up around 5pm with owners home from work. There is a porta potty.
Short trail along Butcherknife Canyon Creek that connects to neighborhood roads and other trails nearby. Some of the cliffs have anchors for top rope climbing. They're secure as far as I know, but as always, use at your own risk.
