Confirmed from Stenger Farm Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Stenger Farm Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (155 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“The dog park looked well maintained and our dog had a great time.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“Beautiful lake in the middle as well.”

Stenger's Farm has been a wonderful open space in the center of Waterford for we'll over fifty year. As kids, it was a play area where you could fish, ride bikes, play ball, etc. Fortunately, it remains an open space with trails for hiking. There's also a dog park to let your dog play.

Awesome park. The dog park looked well maintained and our dog had a great time. The trails are really nice, and the main paths were snowplowed, which is quite the surprise. Beautiful lake in the middle as well. Path was well used so I imagine this park can get busy, but luckily there is a trashcan on the main loop.

★★★★★ — Michael , Feb 2021

Very idyllic and cute, they actually had parking open and a lovely view of a pond once you got on the trails. It was a very easy, mostly flat hike.

★★★★★ — Darien , Jun 2020

Nice little place for a walk. You can fish in the pond. Might even see bats. They have bathouses down there. Like a birdhouse but bats.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
