Confirmed from Stephenson Canyon's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🪧 well-marked 2 mentions

“Small main loop trail, many little trails that lead down to a stream of babbling water with many steps placed to make it easy to follow back to parking lot.”

Recently cleaned up by a fantastic crew, trails were in great condition. There was some areas near the water with natural clay, a great spot to stop and play with littles. We mostly stuck to the trails off to the left where the little waterfall was.

Access is challenging for casual walkers, but a nice little hidden gem. Directions to falls: From the Birch street trailhead, go down hill, left at the sign, right at the next trail fork, then look for another branch on the left. Follow this down the stairs to the creek.

It was a beautiful sight. I little bit of a incline hike but most of it with stairs. Not really marked, but if you go with a picture of a map of the trails you'll get to where you wanna go. And it's also a great place to find an adventure.

Nice little walk we took our dog on while it Sprinkled a little Rain on us. Small main loop trail, many little trails that lead down to a stream of babbling water with many steps placed to make it easy to follow back to parking lot.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 17 mentions

“We had a great hike at the canyonthe waterfall is at the top of the canyon it's a little bit of a hike but once you to the river keep heading up stream and you'll make it there”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceBoardwalk — flat and scenic, and slick when wet, so watch your footing
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
