Confirmed from Stillwell Woods Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Tree-filled nature preserve on 270 acres offering hiking, biking & horse trails.
What runners say about Stillwell Woods Park
“It's a beautiful landscape.”
Cozy and secure. Lots of nature, animals, and sights to see. I came here biking and to see some nature. I was not disappointed.. I even saw a falcon of some sort and a stray black cat. The park has many trails. I like looping the open field on the flat bike trails.
I revisited Stillwell Woods Preserve after first stumbling upon it during a pandemic hike on the Nassau-Suffolk Greenbelt Trail. This time, I hiked from Cold Spring Harbor, enjoying the semi empty trail, just as I like it.
The trails at Stillwell woods connect at the South with Trail View park. At Stillwell, the trails are not mapped very well on Google Maps so navigation can be obscure. This is a great place to walk, run, and bike. I also saw people flying model airplanes in the field.
I decided to hit this place for some MTB runs. Boy was I not disappointed! This place has some awesome trails it’s great! Some of the steeps are steep and it can get pretty techy in there. Overall great time. I went after a rain storm and it was still good.
