Confirmed from Strang Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed playground-surrounded park featuring swings, basketball courts, and tennis courts along with a picnic shelter and a grill.
What runners say about Strang Park
“There isn’t any dirt or sand, so you’ll stay pretty clean, but there is a water sprayer to wash off with if you need it.”
“The playground is fenced in and has many shaded spots, making it great for parents.”
“The playground is separated into picnic areas, a playground for the little ones, a playground for the older ones, and equipment for all ages in between.”
This is a very nice park with things to keep all ages safe& entertained. The play area has only 1 entryway( a rainbow gate) and is fenced completely. Musical instruments, slides, climbing areas and inclusive ground level activities for those not able to climb up into things.
This park was newly renovated so we came on a fall Saturday morning to check it out! This park was made to be "all inclusive" so no matter the child they can enjoy themselves on the various types of equipment. Overall the park is textbook Johnson county park: clean, safe, well made, and overall a blast for the kids!
Strang Park is a wonderful, modern park, with a taste of history, to boot! At 88th and Farley, just a block south of the Central Resource Library, this park is the perfect spot to play. You can even hit up the library after, or for a needed air conditioning break!
This is our new favorite park, hands down! I saw an article about how this park was renovated recently, so I took my 4 kids (ages 2-10) there today, and I was so surprised and excited to find a park that was not only fun for my 2 little kids, but also for my older kids.
