Confirmed from Strawtown Koteewi Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
750-acre park with a natural history center, canoe launch & fishing, plus an archery range & trails.
What runners say about Strawtown Koteewi Park
This is a great park if you're looking to get away from the city and some of the busier trails. We walked about 2 miles of the trail and only saw a few other people which was nice. There's a good portion of the trail that's shaded which is great for summer.
We visited last week with 3 boys under 4 and had a great visit! Their nature center was really fun for the kids and had live critters, toys, and animal hides they could feel. We hiked the short loop trail and walked to the river, saw people on horseback, and checked out some cool mushrooms.
My girls came home from a day at camp here just so exhausted and happy and had so much to tell me about the Zipline challenge course and archery! My two year old and I enjoyed a nice nature walk through the prairie wildflowers and the wigwams were so interesting!
I'm in love with Koteewi. I live just a very short distance from it and now there is a brand new paved walking/bike trail from just in town Cicero alll the way to Koteewi and the White River Campground. I cannot wait to go tubing this year!
