Confirmed from Sundance Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring a shaded playground, picnic shelters & a dog park, plus athletic fields.
What runners say about Sundance Park
“We have accepted the fact that it comes with the territory so we just pack extra sanitary wipes to help clean up our area.”
“The lake portion is beautiful and tons of signs about Arizona game and fish laws.”
This park is unbelievable!! I came over from Ahwatukee just to check it out, and I am so glad I did!!! Soccer fields, basketball courts, splash pad, big and small dog parks, lake with fishing, nice 0.35 mile walking path around the lake perimeter that extends all over the park, and lots of glass and turf!
We enjoy this park. Great playgrounds for kids. There is a splash pad with a soft floor and there is a jungle gym area with wood chips. The dog park is nice, especially since there is a side for both large and small dogs. Alot of poop left behind by owners though.
This is a beautiful park to take a walk, play sports & play with your dog. They have restrooms near the Ramadas & baseball fields. There’s a dog park & plenty of room to spread out. Paved walking trails too
This park is so new and clean, the vibes here are always pleasant, they close a little early but I get it. There's always families here hanging out and dining, dudes fishing, people playing at the basketball courts and kids running around wildly. I love the atmosphere here everytime I come here.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
