Confirmed from Sunset Ridge Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Tranquil park boasting baseball fields, a play area, grassy lawns and views of the ocean.

What runners say about Sunset Ridge Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (360 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 7 mentions

“Clean benches, clean bathrooms, awesome play equipment, and great fields.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 15 mentions

“Nice park to explore with great views, easy parking across the street (paid), quick restaurants across the other street (Charcoal Broiler).”

This is a very beautiful park. Right by the beach. It's quite and regardless of the weather it's a great place to go walking, jogging, or just unwind. There was a group playing soccer, some riding their bikes, and some people walking their dogs. It's super clean definitely a place to visit more often.

★★★★★ — Emma , May 2021

One of my favorite parks because the elevation gets the ocean in clear sight. Great place to walk a few loops and take in the scenery.

★★★★★ — Alexandra , Feb 2021

One of the best parks in Newport Beach. Be warned that if you do not live in walking distance from here, it is a mission to get to this park. It is located off of Pacific Coast Highway and superior.

All I can say is wow, what a gorgeous breath taking view of Newport Beach. Also looks like a great soccer field for honing your skills. The park is within walking distance to numerous shopping, restaurants and of course THE BEACH.....

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
