Confirmed from Susan Hambley Nature Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“Check their website or the kiosk for FREE programs that are frequently offered for kids and adults of all ages.”

Beautiful park with great trails. There is a one mile paved multi-purpose trail loop that takes you on both sides of the lake, plus a .65 mile gravel nature trail. Inside the building offers live animals to look at and a little reading room. It's easy to spend just 10 minutes or hours here.

Another cool one tucked off 303 in the Brunstucky area. Really cool trail that wraps around a pond with a plethora of wildlife including blue herons!!

Nice picnic areas and walking trails. Nature center open on weekend afternoons. Lots of shady spots to walk or relax!

★★★★★ — Allison , Sep 2024

This is probably one of the smallest nature centers I've ever been to, but it's very cozy and welcoming. The building is very beautiful and kept up. The grounds are clean and they provide food for the wild animals in the back of the cabin. They also provide brochures that explain the park.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
