Confirmed from Princess Ledges Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Simple, secluded park in tranquil, wooded surrounds featuring a 1-mi. hiking loop.
What runners say about Princess Ledges Nature Preserve
“At the end of the scenic trail there is one of the coolest ledges ever!”
“Easy and peaceful nature trail with a one mile "nature trail" and a half mile "ledges trail," both of which take a gently sloping walk through a nice forest.”
“An easy walk for any experience level hiker.”
Small but mighty! The total trail length was under two miles as I recall but it’s one of the favorite parks my wife and I have been to. There are basically two areas to the woods. Closer to the parking lot there are older trees, mostly tulip poplars and sugar maples with some red oaks.
Let me first say , I'm a cryptid investigator . My friend , honest to God , captured a picture of a dogman , basically a werewolf , in August . It's bigger of an area than it seems to be . It is one of the most amazing places I've been to . The trails are awesome . But there are so many woods to wander into .
This is a great hike that feels like it further out than it is. Right in the middle of the city is a very wooded and secluded feeling trail. It is short and easily walked. The ledges are small yet have their own majestic feel to them. Very good lunch or after dinner hike.
The Forest That Breathes With You Princess Ledges in Brunswick feels ancient — a place carved by time, wind, and water. The sandstone formations rise from the earth like living sculptures, holding a quiet strength that grounds you the moment you step beneath the canopy.
