Confirmed from Swanson Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Beautiful park with deer and a creek, plus scenic trails for hiking, walking and bicycling.
What runners say about Swanson Park
“This park is quite beautiful during seasons for the small flowers blooming there to see, or during/after a rain.”
“If you ever need a nice shaded and short walk, would recommend here, but turn around before you hit the streets if you want more shade”
“Swanson Park in Wichita is a gorgeously peaceful escape.”
Swanson Park in Wichita is a gorgeously peaceful escape. It’s the kind of place where you can sit, breathe, and let the stress of the day melt away. Perfect for meditation, reflection, or simply being encapsulated in nature’s calm.
If you are brave enough to go exploring, this park is a nature lover's dream. So many interesting plants and animals to photograph here! Bring a camera if that is your thing. Walk back into the woods & find little paths that are a bit uncharted. Be very careful though! Some of the trees have thorns. They are not small.
Nice park. Linear path,However, there are many side trails that you take in along the river to explore. Nice place to unwind from work . It does get a bit buggy in the evening. Make sure to wear some bug spray.
Nice little park for a stroll through the trees. Great paved path. Would be a great outing for young families as strollers and wagons can traverse the path easily. Deer tracks everywhere!

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says

- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
