Confirmed from Tabor Trail Section of Shoreline Greenway Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Tabor Trail Section of Shoreline Greenway Trail
“Such a beautiful place to walk!”
“Well taken care of, relaxing and peaceful environment.”
“Take the dogs there for a quick walk all the time.”
First let me say how pleasantly surprised I was with this location and trails. Well taken care of, relaxing and peaceful environment. I was on vacation and looking for a good bike ride. I highly recommend this little gem of a spot if you live near Branford or East Haven.
This part of the trail connects Young Pond/Bob's Woods to Tabor Dr with the section from Pine Orchard Rd to Tabor actually paved and perfectly flat, ideal for scooters, wheelchairs and strollers. Section to Young Park is thru woods and is crush stone and though not flat, and easy scotter friendly trail.
Took the pup on a walk and loved the scenery! A handful of people were fishing and taught my friend about labyrinths. Parking was easily accessible and available at the time we went.
Super peaceful walking/jogging area. Quiet & clean. I love the fact that it’s paved and I don’t have to worry about gravel.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
