We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Taft Lake Walking Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Taft Lake Walking Trail
This park is great! Walking the path around the pond is absolutely beautiful. They have a fishing dock and kayak/canoe launching dock. I have never used them myself but you can rent kayaks or canoes there as well, think it is done through the 3 Rivers website (instructions are at the pond).
This walking trail is perfect for those who work near the MSP airport wanting to walk during their lunch break.
A great little path to take a walk, as mentioned previously - Planes overhead! Also a highway close by. Lots of flowers and birds to see how ever!
Beautiful trail close to lake with shade trees, fishing pier and lake overlooks. Free parking.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
