Confirmed from Taylor Mountain Regional Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This 1,100-acre preserve features woods, grassy areas & creeks, plus hiking trails & picnic tables.
What runners say about Taylor Mountain Regional Park
“Some trails are well maintained, some trails have improvised forks not represented on maps.”
“Taylor Mountain Regional Park is a scenic and expansive open space on the southeastern edge of Santa Rosa, California.”
“Picnic tables are available near entrances, but there is limited shade—bring sun protection and plenty of water, especially on warmer days.”
A great open hike with many different opportunities for different fitness levels plus this park is dog friendly!! This was a very busy park but you still felt like you were out hiking alone at the same time.
Great park with well maintained trails shaded by beautiful oak trees. There is nice/moderate elevation gain on most trails so be prepared with some water & sunscreen if it’s warm out. The park is very popular especially on weekends and the parking lot fills up fast so get there early.
I regularly hike/disc golf here, and it's a must if you're a Parks Pass holder. The mountain looks like a tiny hill when you drive around town, but when you start hiking to the summit you will have a bit of a reality check--this mountain has some stunning views.
Fantastic hike to the summit. First time here and loved it! Look forward to coming back and seeing the views from the summit, unfortunately we had fog roll in and could not see the landmarks at the top. The park has something for everyone, disk golf , horse back ridding, hiking. All skill levels. Parking is $7.00.

“They're quite muddy/clay-heavy this time of year, and I think the constructed trails were not created with the anticipation of the amount of precipitation we've received this year.”
“The gravel road up to the park has so many dips in it you have to drive extremely slow to traverse it safely.”
