Confirmed from Texas Buckeye Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Texas Buckeye Trail
Nice short one mile trail. The entire trail can be covered in just Uber 30 minutes. There are great views of the Trinity River. I like to watch the Trinity River as the water flows. This day, there were little tiny whirlpools where River things get trapped. I was directly on the edge of the River.
Very cool trail south of Dallas. it's wonderful to get outside, view a little nature, and then come home afterwards.
Thank Goodness for wilderness, no matter how small! Certainly short and sweet paved escape from city life where you can have a "Calgon" moment alone, with dogs and your Merlin Bird ID ap at the very tip of the the Great Trinity Forest! I take my dogs there almost every morning because of its remoteness and beauty.
I love this hike for it's views of the trinity river, it's Buckeye trees, and how close it is to Bonton farm. Going to the Bonton cafe afterwards was a real treat. This trail is being revitalized so it will only get better with time.
