Confirmed from The Meadows at Millennium Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about The Meadows at Millennium Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (422 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“Main trails that are paved and well maintained, as well as 'off the beaten path' trails, that are a bit more rugged.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“Easy parking, a beautiful trestle bridge overlooking the wetlands, lots of open fields for flying kites, and numerous paths for walking, biking, or rollerblading.”

Lovely wetlands and riverside trails. Some parts of the trail smelled strongly of sulfur today. Not sure if this was just today or if this is a common thing here. Saw a pileated woodpecker near the river!

Beautiful park for photos. Cool shots under the bridge. Nice views on top of bridge. Nice trails. Love the native vegetation. Love that it's not all mowed grass.

★★★★★ — Nancy , Oct 2021

Great area of the park. We are here at least a couple times a week to walk our dogs. Lots of different paths to walk and checkout. There’s also lots of great opportunities to see some cool wildlife while walking around.

★★★★★ — Drew , Feb 2026

This place is definitely great to walk/run. Millenium Meadows races are great here, due to the terrain and the hills offered. I travel hours just to get here.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“I love this park so much, but the increasing amount of people who think it's an off leash dog park, especially in the winter is getting to be ridiculous.”
