Confirmed from The Noggin Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about The Noggin Trailhead
“Beautiful small waterfalls.”
Nice moderate hike, entirely shaded out and back. Fairly rocky and up and down ravine following along a creek. Don't suggest this hike during or after a rain due to dirt path and all the rocks. There's no grand view on this hike, but pleasant nonetheless. Wear hiking shoes or boots.
A pretty difficult hike up some steep and rocky terrain and numerous stream crossings until you get to the actual noggin lookout. Gorgeous views up top. Take the gravel road back down to the trail head to complete a 3.6-mile loop.
Not a very long hike but the trail is fairly steep, slick, and rocky in many places. Beautiful small waterfalls. Lots of spring wildflowers.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
