Confirmed from The North Coast Inland Trail in Elyria's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Well maintained with good signage.”

Amazing trail.. Exhausted my 10 year old but truly an inspiring time to fellowship with family on Bike trail!

Joy Ride...explains the trail - the NCIT from Elyria to Kipton was such a joy. Paved, easy riding and natural habitat plentiful. I also felt safe my entire time biking the NCIT. One great trailside place to stop for respit or do a box lunch is about 4.75 miles from Elyria traveling west to Oberlin.

★★★★★ — V. , Apr 2021

Beautiful bike trail! One of my newest favorite finds. We biked out to Oberlin for lunch and back (around 28 miles round trip) this fall. There weren't a whole lot of people to pedal around and it was extremely peaceful (plus it's really flat!).

★★★★★ — Bob , Dec 2016

Nice bike trail. 15 miles straight and flat. Probably 85% bikes with no Amish buggies and the associated horse manure--yet. Annoyingly bumpy for about 2 miles west of Elyria and about 2 miles around Oberlin.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
