We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of The Preserve Area Trails yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about The Preserve Area Trails
“The scenery is beautiful after a long rainy period.”
Nice place. A Fun trail for kids. There is an option to go to a short steep slide, where kids really enjoyed. You could also choose the less steep route. In addition, it is a short trail and good for a short hike. When reaching the top, you can see the the overview of the Tri-Valley and the view is amazing.
Beautiful views of the valley. Lots of wildflowers. Trail is currently very muddy because of recent rain, so make sure to wear good hiking shoes.
Great hiking loop after a dry season the first rain will bring the newts out and they will walk across the path right in front of you
Neat and low traveled trail in Pleasanton, that is super easy to access. There are a couple of good views of Pleasanton (and some creeks), without any exhausting hikes. This is a field preserve, where you may encounter a fair amount of bugs.
