Confirmed from Thomas Jefferson Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Public park with a basketball court, grill, picnic shelters, a playground & a pond.
What runners say about Thomas Jefferson Park
“Not that well maintained, creek always has algae but it's decent to walk around.”
“It’s such a beautifully maintained park, with lots of water, trees and a beautiful statue of Gandhi!”
“Beuatiful and serene park at a nice location surrounded by lot of apartments/communities.”
The highlight of the Thomas Jefferson Park is the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. I was staying in Irving and wanted to go on a short run and chose the Thomas Jefferson park which has a nice pond and a running track surrounded. One round is 1.2 miles (2KM) and good if you can do a few rounds in the morning.
This is a beautiful park. It has a playground for the kids. A great walking path to get some fantastic outdoor exercise or to just take a leisurely stroll. The wildlife is enjoyable too. The turtles & doves love to be fed. There is also a very tasteful Gandhi Memorial that is definitely worth checking out.
Very well maintained park with a lake and a walking track. Good place for walking both in the morning and evening. Number of seating facilities are available for senior citizens to take rest. Well maintained play area and very well used by the kids.
It was a very pleasant day in this park. There is a playground area for children and shade with tables for people to sit as well as a long sidewalk loop around a lake that has a Gandhi memorial on the other side.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
