Confirmed from Thomsen Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Thomsen Park
“I am always pleased with how beautifully maintained & clean this park is.”
Thompson Park is a large park in the city with a good walking/biking trail, two pavilions, and a playground. Easy access with a good amount of parking. There's a large hill in the center that is very popular in the winter for sledding. In the summer there's a volleyball sand lot that can be used.
Great little local park has a paved loop for running, skating, or biking. Good play structure for the kids. Some covered structures with tables great for picnics out of the sun. Clean and maintained well.
Great local park with good visibility for the majority of it. Solid walkway around it and two table areas. Benches are placed at good distances around the walkway. Has a children's play area.
Thomsen Park holds a jungle gym type play structure, swings, a public bathroom, a nice paved walking path, and several acres of grass. There are a few small grass covered hills down which kids enjoy rolling or sledding. There's also a volleyball pit and net.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
