We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Thomson Trails yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Thomson Trails
“Very clean trail, pretty challenging if you push hard.”
“Easy trail is roughly 2 miles.”
I was very impressed with this trail. I was looking for some nature trails a little closer to home for casual hiking. These did not disappoint. There are a lot of bikers on the trails though as I’d say they are primarily made and kept up for that, but I get out of the way when I hear them coming and carry on.
My girlfriend and I visited this trail for the first time today, and we brought her dog "Smores." We had a lot of fun on this trail. It was a pretty day to hike. We hiked against the biker trail. There are a lot of different ways to go in the loop.
I've been hiking here for several years. I love how close it is to home, surprisingly very good.
Great mountain bike trails, has certain direction for days of the week (see posted signs) hikers go opposite of bikers for their safety. Hikers need to yield to bikers and get off the trails when they pass. Dogs on leash at all times.
