Confirmed from Three Falls Ranch Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Three Falls Ranch Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (58 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“Lots of beautiful wildflowers in bloom right now with stunning snow caps in the background.”

Easy hike with amazing views. The trailhead and parking lot is easy to miss. You’ll probably wind up driving around the super fancy mansions under development in the area. There is construction so maybe check out the trail during the weekends. It’s quite and secluded.

★★★★★ — Ying , Jun 2023

Plenty of parking and the restrooms were open. It is about a 2.5 mile hike to the falls - not too difficult. You can find the falls in Google Maps under "Alpine Rock Water Slide".

★★★★★ — Phil , Sep 2020

The parking for the trailhead is easy to miss. You access the entrance off the Fort Canyon right turn before you arrive to the marker located on Google maps. The city sign for the trailhead is located 20 feet to the right of the Fort Canyon road as you come up.

★★★★★ — Brian , Apr 2021

Developed parking area with access to reasonably easy foothill trails for hiking, running and mountain biking. The development in the area may make you cry. Another demonstration of the power of money over local government.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
