Confirmed from Three Hawks Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Three Hawks Trail
This 1 mile trail is popular with walkers, runners, hikers and mountain bikes you may even see the Yucaipa Cross Country team using it for training. Dogs should be on leash. The trail is accessible from Crafton Hills, Crafton Rd. and the Ridge access road. It can be linked with the Thunderbird trail for a 2+ mile loop.
Great little hike, awesome views and right now it is full of blooming flowers.
Great starting point you can definitely choose your own path and make it as long as you like. Lots of friendly people but not crowded. We went early morning and as the day got later we definitely encountered more people, a few mountain bikers but all in all a great hike.
I thought this was a great trail. I was originally coming off the crafton hills pathway. Beautiful and well maintained. A great starter trail for a young family or a weekend 😁🤟🏽 warrior like me

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
